Studied at Brussels Royal Academy and Heidelberg- Mannheim Music Academy where he received his “efficiency in art” qualification. Further studied with Sir James GALWAY who described Evcil as ‘one of the best flutists of his generation’. Some of the orchestras he participated as solo flutist are: Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic, Murcia State Symphony, Sao Paulo State Symphony, Istanbul State Opera and State Symphony, Istanbul Borusan Philharmonic with conductors L. Maazel, A.Rahbari, I.Oistrakh, E.Tabakov, I. Marin, T. Strugala, C. Scimone, G. Aykal to name a few.. Gave concerts and recitals with: R. Galliano, F.Say, B.Fromanger, D. Formisano, M. Grauwels. R. Trevisani, L. Kretzer, P. Moll, A. Oliva, C. Askin, R. Gunes..
Evcil owns the Belgium Royal Art Encouragement medal. His flute takes him to numerous tours in Turkey and abroad where he is invited as Guest Artist to give solo concerts with orchestras, recitals, masterclasses and performances at some of the most distinguished concert halls, schools and international music festivals such as the Italian International Flute Festival (Falaut), Flautomania Teatro alla Scala in Milano,Italy, The British Flute Society Festival in Manchester, England, NFA flute conventions Head Liner concerts in San Diego and New York, Slovenian International Flute Festival, French flute festival in Nice and Serbian International Flute Festival Belgrade, Pristine Flute Festival, Kosovo. Also appeared in numerous TV and Radio broadcasts.
He made the Turkey premiere of “Concierto Pastoral” by J. Rodrigo, which is accepted as technically the most difficult concerto for flute by several authorities, with the State Symphony Orchestras of Istanbul, Izmir and Adana in 2004.
Evcil has significant contributions to expand the popularity of his instrument, and has the ambition to represent his music and his country, Turkey, at international music arena and received the Belgium Arts Encouragement Medal for his efforts in promoting music at home and abroad. He is awarded “The Best Woodwind Player” in 2010 by the Classical Music Magazine ANDANTE. His “TANGO TIME” CD was published by KALAN Music in Turkey. His second CD named “Middle Eastern Minatures” came out to market in 2012. He recorded his third CD “The Flute Virtuoso” in 2015 with world famous accompanist Phillip Moll.
Continuing his intensive concert career at home and abroad, had a tour in the USA with harpist Cagatay Akyol in the beginning of 2020. Having made the premiere of Fazil Say Flute Concerto written for him in 2018 with the Istanbul Borusan Philharmonic at the opening concert of the 2018-19 concert season, the recording with the Salzburg Camerata will be issued as CD in this year.
